Write your final term paper of about 1000-1200 words on one the following topics. The paper should be analytical explaining various aspects of the topic using the text of the Qur’an and Hadith. You may quote the verses and/or Ahadith or simply give proper and full references. If you use any other book or internet article give full reference. Quotations without full references are not acceptable and may affect negatively your final grade.
1. What is the concept of God in the Qur’an? What is Shirk and what are the Qur’anic arguments against it? What is the relationship between God and human beings?
2. What does the Qur’an say about the creation of human beings? What is human position and role in this world? Are human beings free or everything about their life is determined? Does the Qur’an accept diversity and pluralism and what is the destiny of human beings?
3. Construct a story on the creation of Adam and Eve and various episodes of their lives from birth until their coming to earth. Use various references to this story from the Qur’an (2:30-39; 7:11-25; 15:26-44; 17:61-65; 18:50; 20:115-123; 38:71-85).
4. Write the story of Joseph from Surah 12 and explain the lessons that the Qur’an has drawn from this story. You may compare this story with the Biblical account in Gen. 39-49.
5. Are men and women equal according to the Qur’an? Define the rights and role of women according to the Qur’an. What are the differences and why?
6. What is the position of Jesus in Islam? What does the Qur’an say about his mother, his birth, his personality and his mission? What are the main differences between the teachings of the Qur’an and the New Testament about Jesus?
7. Write a book report on Maurice Bucaille’s work “The Bible, the Qur’an and Science.” The book is available at:

8. What is the concept of faith (Iman) in the Qur’an and Hadith? Explain various dimensions of faith according to the Book of Faith in Sahih Muslim.
9. Explain the concept of knowledge (‘Ilm) according the Qur’an and Hadith. Analyze the chapter on knowledge in Sahih al-Bukhari
