For this reflective piece, I would like you to consider the impact of Internet Technology on the delivery of ERP systems. Internet Technologies is creating alternative ways to effectively deliver ERP services. Cloud computing means significant lower operating costs as traditional hardware and software costs are substantially reduced in favour of browsers and a wide variety of platforms for service delivery; including laptops, desktops, tablets and smart-phones and other mobile devices.
In your reflection consider what is meant by SaaS, ASP, Cloud Computing and what might these mean in the context of how businesses deliver value – consider for example traditional notions of the value chain and the manner in which business might have delivered services in the past.
