In this assignment, you must submit a 2,500 word case study report on a people management problem, preferably in your own workplace*. The case study must address an issue picked from the above list of topics, and must apply theoretical understanding to a real organisational problem, including reference to the appropriate scholarly literature on the topic. The problem should be amenable to an organisational intervention, although you need not necessarily implement the intervention.
In the Case Study Report, you are required to present:
A brief, clear description of the problem, including enough background information for the reader to understand its organisational context;
A structured exploration of the nature of the problem from the organisation’s perspective (you could, for example, use a SWOT analysis, a stakeholder analysis, or some similar organising framework);
A critical examination of relevant theory and research evidence from the organisational behaviour literature (it may be most effective to integrate this section with 2) above);
A critical evaluation of two or three alternative interventions aimed at resolving the problem, and a justification for your preferred intervention.
This evaluation should look at risks and problems as well as the benefits associated with each intervention; and
A discussion of the key issues in implementing your preferred intervention.
Remember that the problem chosen and the solutions discussed must be principally concerned with organisational behaviour and management and your analysis must draw extensively on the organisational behaviour and human resource management literature.
