Tasks: There are two parts to this assignment:
Part 1
Develop an assessment plan in the form of a matrix for an imagined or actual training activity. This matrix must be different to the one you developed for Assignment 1.
Part 2
Design, develop and then appraise three different types of assessment instruments you included in the plan.
Develop a quick guide on selecting the most appropriate assessment instruments, from a list of at least six that VET teachers can use.
Suggested approach for Part 1
Briefly describe the training activity. The description should include the overall program outcome and provide the context for developing three behavioural objectives and associated assessment strategies.
Develop three behavioural objectives, each describing the behaviour, standard for performance, and conditions for the assessment. For each behavioural objective identify appropriate assessment targets and assessment methods. Indicate at least two different assessment methods for each objective. Design and develop an assessment plan using a matrix that provides a structure for your assessment plan (Use a matrix).
Suggested approach for Part 2
Select three instruments that you will develop and appraise. Describe each instrument and its strengths and limitations.
Fully develop the three instruments. Include instructions for learners and markers and provide a set of marking criteria sheet for each instrument. Attach the criteria as an appendix.
Appraise the three instruments in terms of how effective each individual assessment will be for measuring and reporting learning achievement against each objective and the knowledge types. Use the following factors to appraise the assessments: validity, reliability for each method and at least relevance, balance, efficiency, objectivity, difficulty, discrimination, fairness and feasibility as necessary for a thorough appraisal. Your appraisal should be supported with relevant literature.
Describe how you would evaluate if the assessment instruments are valid and reliable.
