The primary driver for advancing clinical practice is critical reflection. (Clarke and Wilson 2008) Therefore this assessment item requires you to REFLECT and CRITICALLY ANALYSE your performance as an advance practice in one of the three domains recognised by the Australian Nursing Federation. These domains have been identified as conceptualising practice, adapting practice and leading practice. In performing this activity you should develop a deep understanding (Benner 1984) of the concept of advance practice

WRITING YOUR PAPER
Academic writing requires that you address the correct style and format:

? Referencing is a necessary requirement of academic writing. It does three main things for your writing:
o It provides a source of information for your reader;
o It acknowledges the work and ideas of others; and
o It substantiates (empowers) your writing. It tells the reader that it is not only the writer who is making this statement but others who are experts in the field you are discussing, policies of government, and data- whether research or demographic.
Please adhere to the WORD COUNT
This is a requirement of your assignment. The length gives some indication of
how in depth you will be able to go with a particular paper. There are definitely
skills in writing to the word limit.
Other points worth noting
Make sure you define terms so that the reader knows what perspective you
are taking. A number of terms you would have found in your readings have a
number of meanings/interpretations eg the term community.
Use of dot points is generally discouraged in academic writing. You are
supposed to be putting forward an argument to the reader to show
them/convince them of your ideas/work. This cannot be done in dot points or
lists. They are not acceptable in an essay, sometimes acceptable in a report.
Use of acronyms is acceptable if you first explain to the reader what they
mean. For example, ?The World Health Organisation (WHO) ????.. The
