After watching the video, in my perception mental illness is a condition that is created by our own life activities. Also, personal lifestyle plays a major role in the spread of mental illness. Mental illness is a bad condition that can be easily avoided in our life. Mental illness is a condition that characterized by disorder of different aspects such as mood, behavior and daily activities. Actually, my information and background about mental illness have been increased. The video gives a good account of how this condition can develop from minor daily activities that may irritate the mind. These thoughts and feelings have positively affected my knowledge by empowering me with the information that proves mental illness is a condition that can be well managed under all circumstances. These thoughts and feelings play a major role in the attitude towards the condition and its sufferers. Based on the extensive research done in the video, one gets the feeling that mental health is determined by one’s lifestyle and the way he or she understands the environment. These feelings are important in controlling ones behavior towards cases of mental illnesses. The negative publicity the mental illness has received has led to a negative perception about the condition. This cause is expected to empower an individual with the knowledge to understand mental illness and ways of managing it. The DVD has clearly changed my traditional perception towards mental illness. It is now clear that mental illness is a condition that is highly influenced by the way we live that our class in the society. The DVD has taught me to control my feelings of agitation as they may result in stress, which is a major cause for mental illness. I hope to achieve a full understanding of the mental state of individuals who are regarded as healthy. This lesson emphasizes on the need to observe the traits in life that may expose an individual to mental illness. This is an important aspect in understanding the mental state and ways of addressing the challenges posed by external factors like stress. The DVD has completely changed my attitude towards mental illness. Through the DVD I have been able to note that simple activities that we suppose minor are the main precursors of mental illness in the entire population. This is a very important point that needs good understanding.
