Proposal: contamination transport and deposition in the queen and King Rivers, west coast Tasmania.
The queen river flows from Mt Lyell on the west coast of Tasmania through the town of Queenstown before flowing into the King River and ultimately into Macquarie Harbour. Mt Lyell hosts a significant Cu, Ag and Au ore deposit, which at one time was amongst the largest Cu mines in the world. The Queen River drains the mining operations transporting significant amounts of mine waste, although significant less than it once did. The Cradle Coast NRM has funding available to examine the current state of the river and the historic legacy of pollution in the catchment below the mine. They have asked you to put in a bid to undertake this work.
Your task is therefore to write a proposal in which you outline how you would examine current and historic pollution below the mine.
The proposal should include
1. A project title
2. Introduction and background: A discussion of the problem with reference to supporting literature.
3. Method and approach: how you would address the problem. This could include specific details of for example, how many samples you analyse, how and where you would analyse them.
4. Benefit and feasibility: A discussion of why you should undertake the work and what the benefit of it will be.
5. Budget: your expected budget . note you do not have to include your salary only project coast.
6. Budget justification: A discussion of why the items outlined in the budget are necessary.
7. Timeline:
World count: no more than1500(excluding budget, timeline and title)
