Discussion: Program Evaluation Plans
This week you learned about a variety of models and tools for evaluating nursing curricula and programs. Bring to mind the benefits of using program evaluation plans. How would you construct an evaluation plan for the program you analyzed in Application 1 (FILE ATTACHED) to gain the most benefit from this ongoing and perhaps time- and resource-intensive process?
With these thoughts in mind:
Post a summary of your evaluation plan, including the following:
What evaluation model would you select, and why?
Drawing on the principles of program evaluation, identify three key elements of your evaluation plan. Explain why these are important and how you would collect data. Identify which tools you would use, when the data would be collected, and by whom.
Which standards of practice, regulations, accrediting bodies, or other external guidelines, if any, would you utilize in creating your program evaluation plan? Explain your reasons.
Describe two ways in which the data collected could be systematically used to improve the quality of the educational program.
