Research and select a suitable position that you would be interested in gaining after graduation. Prepare and professionally present a job application package (including cover letter, resume/CV, and response to selection criteria), and consider the job’s relevance to your own career path (hospitality – hotel).
You are required to:
• Find three suitable job advertisements (with selection criteria) through a newspaper, trade publication and/or internet. (In Australia)
• Choose one of the advertised positions. Explain your interest in that job, and reflect upon its relevance to your career path (which is hospitality – hotel) (approx. 300 words) (NO more than 1 page).
• Respond to selection criteria, and write a cover letter for the job you have selected.
• Prepare a resume/professional CV that matches the job requirements. (You can presume that you are graduated).
• Include the three job advertisements (as an Appendix) in your job application package.
The order of the task:
1. Career Plan (No more than 1 page)
2. Three suitable job advertisement (Must be related to hospitality –position in a hotel in Australia)
3. Cover Letter (No more than 1 page)
4. Resume (1-2 pages) (My resume is attached, need correction for my resume, i.e. gramma/ spelling mistake, add if anything needed to include)
5. Selection Criteria (select 3-5 selection criteria from one of the chosen job advertisement out of those three.)
( – The suggested length of the response should be between ½ and 1 ½ pages per selection criteria, depend on the level of the position being applied for and what the organisation asks for.)
