This response paper should be entitled “Bible Literary Criticism: Higher Criticism.” It

1. Define and review the meaning of “Higher Criticism” as it relates to the Pentateuch
(first five books of the Old Testament).
2. Briefly state what the proponents of “Higher Criticism” are attempting to do.
3. Briefly review some of its arguments.
4. Discuss briefly its weaknesses.

9. Provide a table of contents page, which follows the title page. See Chicago Style
instructions and sample under “Response Paper Instructions.” Do your paper as I have
illustrated.
10. If you choose to have an introduction page, which should be at least three fourths full to
