2. An analysis of a particular piece of music, and the influence surrounding its creation. For example, a paper about Bob Dylan’s album, The Times They Are a-Changin, would argue how the lyrics and stylistic traits of the music (tempo, instrumentation) had an effect on the civil rights movement.
3. An original piece of music, together with a paper describing how you created it, what social, political, cultural or personal forces influenced its composition, and how were you influenced by the traditions and methods of composers and musicians you studied in your classes.
