Choose and specifically analyze a scene from one of these movies: City Lights by Charlie Chaplin, Psycho by Hitchcock, Searching for Bobby Fischer by Steve Zaillian, The Sting by George Roy Hill, Casablanca by Michael Curtiz, Shaun of the Dead by Edgar Wright, or Singin’ in the Rain by Stanley Donen. (pick only one movie and one scene).
Break the scene down into its constituent parts and share why you believe the director made the choieces she/he made.
-Do not include a summary of the movie just jump right into what movie and scene is being analyzed. Maybe have a small intro to open up what you are gonna be talking about.
-Most of the essay should be about the analysis.
-You must be VERY SPECIFIC when it comes to analyzing. Anything within the catergories of sound, editing, shots, movement, mise en scene, etc.
-Use alot of SPECIFIC TERMS/WORDS about specific things in the scene. DO not be broad.
-it is your own analysis so do not use outside sources of others analysis. Only source needed is the movie itself. If you want to use outside source for help to analyze I dont care just do not cite them
