Find out what has been happening to JAPAN’s macroeconomy over the past 5-10 years (5-10 years is a suggestion, not a firm time period). You should do general research, finding books/ articles discussing the economic/financial situation in JAPAN. Additionally, it will probably be helpful to collect and report some recent economic data. Central Banks and international institutions such as the OECD or IMF are often good source for this type of information.
The paper should include a discussion/presentation of the information discussed in the previous paragraph. You should also make a connection to some of the economic theories discussed in class or in the textbook. DIscuss how the situation in JAPAN supports (or does not support) some of the theories discussed in class. We learned Economic Theory such as Malthusian Model, Solow Model. I think Solow model is the best model to explain JAPAN’s economic situation. This part of the paper will likely be the most difficult and should involve careful consideration and expenditure of time/ effort.
The paper should be double spaced and should provide a bibliography of any resources used in your research . These should be real sources. Do not reference WIKIPEDIA or some random Blog or Web site.
You should print out and turn in any resource used. If the source are longer than 2 pages, you may turn in just the first two pages of the articles. *I have to turn in first 2 pages of articles, therefore please provide me URL (if source is from web article) or send me copy of first 2pages of article (if source is from book). There are no limitation of # of web sources.
