This essay entails comparing and contrasting two local neighbourhoods in the National Capital Region( Gatineau and Barrhaven) drawing on themes, issues and/or actors covered in the course. (For all neighborhoods outside the National Capital Region, please consult the professor.) Choose your neighbourhoods carefully, and in your essay describe where they are in relation to other, well-known neighbourhoods (e.g. the Market) and landmarks (e.g. Parliament). The neighbourhoods you choose should illustrate important differences in the
way politics is practiced, reflected, reproduced or manifested in local environments. In addition to exploring and analyzing these differences, your essay should address the following questions: How do the processes that unfold in, and between, these local environments show how politics is local? How do local processes exhibited in, and between, these neighborhoods connect up with larger scale processes, regional, national, global?
