Item number 819101-10 was changed to 819101-20 within 123456-100’s bill of material, which advanced the revision from C to D.
The effectivity for changing from the -10 item to the -20 item was 5/15/08.
As of today (8/20/08), it is discovered that the -20 items have severe deficiencies and will cause extensive problems if not replaced.
PLAN OF ACTION:
Replace the 819101-20’s with 819101-30’s.
Ship no more 987654-200’s with the -20 items.
Find all 987654-200s (including any shipped) and replace the 20s with -30s.
New -30 items can be available 2 weeks after vendor receipt of the Purchase Order (which will be generated upon release of the ECN today).
Map the receipts and issues of item number 819101-20 and account for the total quantity. How many have been ordered? Received? In inventory now? Incorporated into next higher assemblies?
How many 987654-200s have shipped containing the 819101-20s and what are their serial numbers?
