Identify any confounding variables that you cannot control.
When designing this study, carefully consider the type of IV and DV you have chosen for your Proposal. Bear in mind that the primary IV of interest for your proposal may be conducive to experimental manipulation, which is a much preferred technique to a quasi-experimental technique; therefore, for this discussion post you may have to select a variable that is related to your IV that cannot be manipulated.
