The goal of this project is to study various methods and interventions regarding teaching special education students. In addition, a comparison will be made between the US special education system and the system in Saudi Arabia. Both are very diverse and different approaches that each country follows, and I hope to create a comparative study for this project about 20 pages.

Possess adequate knowledge of special education programs in the United States that would be most suitable to apply in the educational system in Saudi Arabia.
Methods: (How will you achieve your learning objectives?)
Research various teaching methods regarding special education in the United States and examine current procedures in Saudi Arabia in order to determine appropriate programs to implement in KSA (not repetitive or too advanced but at the best entry point to enable optimal outcomes).
Time Line: (What are the deadlines, milestones, etc. for completion of the study? When do you expect to accomplish major parts of the study?)
Initial review (date: Jun 2013); Research at least 10 special education methods in United States past and present (date: Feb-Mar 2013); Research at least 10 current program in Saudi Arabia (date: Feb-Mar 2013); write report on United States and Saudi Arabia programs; select appropriate program to implement in Saudi Arabia based on needs of special education population, resources available, teacher training, etc. Present final report date: May 1, 2013).
Assessment(s): (How will it be determined that you have (or have not) achieved your learning objectives and your goal? What assessments will you use?)
The goal of this project is to study at least 2 different programs and conduct thorough research about each one, including challenges and successes. Findings will be summarized in a table that will include background information, components of the programs, challenges and successes, training for staff and teachers, and how it can be implemented in the country. The table will follow a thorough research paper about each program under discussion.
