This is meant to be a persuasive paper for a Humanities of 20th Century class, and my goal is to persuade the reader that the feminist movement during the 20th century in US was a positive one and prove him/her why I believe so. I’ve already written and turned in the first paragraph, so please include it and start from there. Please, take in consideration that I am a female in favor of the movement. Also, include that I don’t believe that any gender is better than the other one, I believe that we are all equal and, in fact, it is beneficial because today men and women can provide equally to their families.

Feminist Movement
The feminist movement in the United States was a social and political movement whose main goal was to achieve equality for women. Feminism changed the lives of millions of women and had a deep effect on the American society throughout the twentieth century. In the first few decades of the twentieth century, several groups of women in the United States worked together to give women the right to vote. A constitutional amendment in 1920 guaranteed women the right to do so. Between the late 1910s and the mid-1940s, the United Sates faced two world wars, which led to an economic crisis that made many American women go out of the comfort of their homes and start taking over men?s jobs. In the beginning, it was just to provide labor during the war, but then it turned into a regular way of life. With women working, families enjoyed a better standard of living. Therefore, I believe the feminist movement was beneficial to women because it helped achieve that wished equality.
