Throughout this course, students examined concepts in organizational development. Students will use the rubric below to complete this project by submitting a formal APA 6th edition paper of 5 to 6 pages of text. Include a title and reference page. (Note: Please include abstract as well). Formal means the paper is written in third person, and uses correct grammar. In order for students to receive full credit at each stage, they must address all relevant information listed below, use at least 3 scholarly references in addition to general references, such as company’s websites, and follow the guidelines in the writing rubric handout. For this exercise, students shall identify one industry, such as the Airlines, Financial/Insurance, Housing, Restaurant, Medical, etc., and then find two to three companies within that industry cluster to compare and contrast their organizational structures. Each business operates differently, yet at times they may mimic each other. The key here is to identify key organizational strategies and theories and then compare and contrast them on paper. Students will need to balance their content to ensure it is not too broad, yet focused enough with specific examples of theory. This might require focusing on one particular area. For example, under financial, students might want to look at the auto insurance industry. Use the follow to complete the essay:
Part 1: Introduction
o State the industry introduce your topic
o Explain the important organizational development of this industry
o Discuss a few key OB areas that will be investigated
o Write a thesis sentence that supports a compare and contrast model
Part II: Body
o Provide a chronological or strategical development of your selected industry using the companies as background

? What impact has it had on our economy throughout time?
o Discuss how your selected companies influenced their industry
o Compare and contrast organizational development of your companies
o Given the current financial times, where is this industry expected to go?
