Students must deliver a written report to address two case questions to John Lewis plc and Tesco
Plc set as below. The report should contain no more than 5000 words (2,500 words for each case
question) including any diagrams/tables (but excluding the references and appendices – if any). The
minimum font size for the body of text should be 10pt.
The total of 100 marks will be allocated to the following aspects of the report, which should also be
used as a guideline to structure the report.

Question Two (45 marks):
Mobile technology is deemed to improve business performance and decision making and competitive
advantage. Based on IBM white paper “Creating a compelling mobile user experience”
(1) 20 marks. Provide your advice to John Lewis on how to incorporate its mobile
technology/strategy with its business strategy to improve its business performance (both internally
and externally).
(2) 25 marks. Design a group of key performance indicators (KPI) to assess the business
improvements based on your advice made to John Lewis. Use Aberdeen group’s report as your key
reference.
Justify your answers/arguments by applying appropriate concepts/methods "use balance
scorecard" and reference to relevant literature/articles/sources.
