Students will be expected to write a philosophical manifesto providing arguments that support and illustrate their beliefs. The following five questions should be addressed:
– What is the best way to determine truth?
– How do you know if something is real?
– What is the relationship between existence and identity?
– To what extent do you have control over your life?
– What is the best way to distinguish right from wrong?
This paper will constitute 25% of the students final grade. Grading will be conducted based on the clarity and depth of thought as well as the student’s ability to integrate material from the course as a means for better illustrating their ideas. Focus on providing support for your claims. Simple opinions provided without sufficient support are discouraged.
