For this assignment, you will access and view one of the sermon videos.
Consider the following as you view the sermon:
1. Was the sermon expositional or topical?
2. Was the big idea of the sermon apparent?
3. Was the sermon deductive, semi-inductive, or inductive?
4. Was media used in the delivery of the sermon? If so, was this effective? If no media was used, would media have benefitted the delivery of the big idea of the sermon?
5. Was the sermon type appropriate given the subject addressed?
After compiling information about the sermon you viewed, craft an essay (1,000–1,250 words) in which you do the following:
Evaluate the delivery of the sermon you viewed
1. Was there an introduction?
2. Was the Bible the primary source of the message? If not, what was?
3. Was the message in context?
4. Was the purpose of the sermon obvious?
5. Was practical application apparent?
Explain if the following concepts from Robinson’s textbook applied:
1. Idea explained
2. Proposition proved
3. Principle applied
4. Story told
5. Subject completed
Explain if the sermon type used was appropriate given the subject matter. Could a different sermon type have been more effective?
Prepare this assignment according to the APA guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.
