Chapter 1: should include introduction about the RFID as a technology in public libraries.
The problem statement should include at least three citations discussing that because of budget cuts, Queens Library had to implement the self-check in/out machines to fill out the gaps in customer services as consequence to staff reduction due to budget alterations.
The study is to test the public perceptions and experiences using those machines from the usability perspective, meaning, if the machines are guessable enough to public and easy to use or not? if using those machines are really helping Queens Public Library to provide high quality of customer service to public through those machines or not? Is implementing this technology was the right decision to overcome budget alteration from eh library administration?s perspective or not?
The study will interview library patrons through open ended questionnaire discussing their personal experience and perceptions using the self-check in/out machines in Queens Library.
The study also will interview library administrators and decision makers to collect their views regarding implementing the RFID technology in library and their experiences after implementations.
Chapter 2: the literature review will include Historical overview regarding the RFID as a technology and using is in public libraries.
Collect any study that have investigated the RFID implementation?s affects in public libraries (World Wide) and then narrow it to implementation in USA libraries.
Chapter 3: as the study is testing personal experience and perceptions, the chapter three with concentrate on Moustakas phenomenology study to explain why phenomenology study is appropriate and follow his model in regards of the instruments and eth sampling.
