From what you have learned from the previous two videos and the book ?Defining America: Through Immigration Policy by Ong Hing, compare the reality faced by Latinos today with the realities faced by another group of immigrants in US history (Chinese would be a good group to talk about, reference the book by Ong Hing) by answering the following questions: In your opinion, is history repeating itself? If yes: how and why? If not, why not? Substantiate your answer with a detailed comparative discussion and factual examples of the two groups. (This question should comprise a few paragraphs, 300 ? 400 words)
9. Next, imagine you are a policy consultant to the President or Congress: you have to come up with a policy proposal to address the crisis of undocumented immigration in America today. Write a realistic, well-documented and well- constructed policy proposal. Your proposal should draw on and clearly explain a historical precedent AND a contemporary US immigration policy! Also, add three links (links only) to media articles published within the past 2 years (from approved sources listed below ONLY) that you believe would correctly inform Congress about the current illegal immigration crisis and its impact on the US society. (This question should comprise a few paragraphs, approximately 300 ? 400 words)
