The purpose of the project is to develop a 15 slide PowerPoint presentation, not including the title page and references page, on an unusual or complex legal and/or ethical issue in the human service field: The topic I pick is Domestic Violence Reporting. Your presentation should include the following information, along with comprehensive notes on each slide:
– A thorough presentation of the legal and / or ethical issue (utilize at least 3 – 4 resources to provide a summary of the issue).
– A presentation of the legal and/or ethical dilemma (what is the problem and how are affected people impacted).
– A thorough presentation of the legal and/or ethical considerations surrounding the issue (what does the law and/or ethics code state regarding how to handle the issue; utilize at least 3 – 4 resources to explore the legal and ethical guidelines regarding the issue).
– A presentation of the varying perspectives on the issue (what do various researchers/professions say about the dilemma and how to resolve it).
– A presentation on how personal values and beliefs might conflict with the legal and/or ethical requirements surrounding the issue and how those will be resolved.
– A presentation on at least two decisions regarding how to resolve the conflict and the consequences of those decisions (who will be helped or hurt, what are the benefits and harms, etc.)
Your presentation should include at least 8 – 10 scholarly resources.
– Use bullets or short sentences, and try to keep each to one line; that is, without text wrapping.
– Use the notes area to present detailed information about each slide. This area should be in sentence and paragraph format and should be comprehensive.
– Remember to cite your sources in APA format.
– Use graphics to help tell your story. Don’t overwhelm your audience by adding too many graphics to a slide, however.
– Choose an appealing, consistent template or theme that is not too eye-catching. You do not want the background or design to detract from your message.

– Tone is academic and appropriate for the content and assignment.
– Thesis statement is clearly articulated.
– Structure is logical, including an introduction, body, and conclusion.
– Flow is maintained by effective transition.

– Adherence to APA formatting requirements is evident.
Research Criteria:
– Sources are credible (preferably peer-reviewed), varied, relevant, and current (published within past five years); use of seminal work (e.g. Freud) is encouraged.
– Sources inform analysis, evaluation, problem-solving and decision-making.
– Includes required number of professional/scholarly sources.
– Addresses ethical considerations in research when appropriate.
