Industry Analysis ? Table 7.5 lists the critical issues of an industry analysis. Notice that it addresses two levels of analysis. Questions 1-5 of the table concentrate on the entire industry and questions 6-12 concentrate on local conditions. You need to include both levels of analysis in your business plan.
Industry trade associations are a good source of information about industry conditions. You can find them using any good internet search engine.
Description of the Venture – Look at Table 7.3, page 201, section IV, item E (background of entrepreneurs). Do not include this discussion in this section. Use section VIII (organization plan), item D (management-team background) to discuss the qualifications of the management team. Attach a resume in the appendix for each team member. (I will do the resume part for each member)
Production Plan ? Table 7.7 outlines the content of the production plan. Notice, however, that it has two sections. Questions 1 -10 are designed for a manufacturing business. If your business is a retail operation or service firm, questions 1 – 6 at the bottom of the figure apply.
