First International Auditing Assignment
Throughout the international audit element of the module the expression ‘the value of an audit’ is used. In the context of the recent failures (or potential failure) of a number of financial institutions under the banking crisis critically assess this expression in the context of stakeholders in the external audit. Alternatively, you may also select any other significant companies which have failed recently to assess this statement.
In the context of this assignment you should review these financial institutions or company failures in at least two countries (one failure per country) and consider the impact of international auditing standards and issues such as the views of the professional and academic press. You should adopt an analytical and critical approach in your writing style and the assignment is meant to encourage you to express your own views based on the evidence you have gathered in undertaking this task.
Length of assignment 2,500 words (absolute maximum with no plus 10%). You need to fully reference your bibliography. Word length above 2,500 words will be ignored in marking. Please put the number of words used at the end of your assignment ignoring the bibliography in that total. Please also put your enrolment number on each page as header. If you don’t you risk not getting a mark as we will not know whose script it is.
