events that created the relationship in question. For instance, if there is conflict
between two family members, what was the event or situation that accounts for that
conflict? Likewise, what are the events or circumstances that have brought two family
members exceptionally close?
? Use your genogram software to map out the genogram, all the relationship descriptors,
with the key that clarifies all the symbols that you have in the genogram. Including a
genogram key is required, so be sure you make one. If you do not have genogram
software, a carefully hand-drawn genogram, with a key, that is a scanned-in pdf will be
an acceptable substitute.
? Begin to draft the narrative that describes these events and circumstances that
account for the interrelationships between family members that cannot be accounted
for with symbols on the genogram.
? Lastly, listen to the recording of your half of the interview and transcribe everything
you said in preparation for annotating that for the last portion of this section of the final
project. You will use the micro skills list used during the residency week to identify the
skills you used, or wish you had used.
