Objective
The purpose of this assignment is to gain different perspectives on leadership development and to contribute to a personal philosophy on leadership development by interviewing every day leaders about their personal experience with leadership development.
Assignment
Identify two individuals that you personally know, that you consider to be an ideal or great leader. This leader can be a personal or professional contact and have a formal or informal leadership position. Interview these two leaders by asking them the following questions:
1. What are the skills that are most useful to you as a leader and why?
2. How did you develop these skills?
3. What has been the most meaningful experience, that influenced you as a leader and why?
In addition to the above listed questions, you can add any others that you think add to the richness of your understanding of leadership development. ??You can conduct the interviews either F2F, by phone or email. However to get the most out of the interviews a F2F or phone interview might work best. Before the interview explain what the interview is for and ask them for permission to share the information they provide with the class. ??Prepare a brief presentation of the leaders and the interview results. You can make a little movie, use powerpoint, a cartoon or any other creative form you like. Be creative!
