This semester we have looked at Nature and our interactions with it from a number of different perspectives Custom Essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

As a result, it is hoped that (setting aside the elements of composition), at the very least, you are more aware of your own attitudes and beliefs, as well as some of the more common perspectives that our culture promotes. This final essay now attempts to find some practical or “everyday” application for those ideas.
No matter where we find ourselves through the course of any given day (a classroom, a dorm room, the library, a business, etc), it can be argued that the food we consume means that we are never entirely disconnected from Nature It would also seem the case, then, that our food, in many ways, mediates our relationship to Nature. This is most clear when we eat “whole” foods: an apple, a potato, a carrot, etc. That food acts as a kind of go-between, drawing us back to Nature even when we are in a highly urban or domestic setting. But what happens when we eat a packaged or processed food? Particularly when that food advertises itself as intrinsically “natural”? As part of that claim, the product is surely selling a story about its relationship to Nature; a relationship that, by implication, consumers will enjoy should they purchase the product. In other words, often what we’re being sold is a connection to Nature.
This assignment asks you to examine that connection.
Each element of your chosen food product will be important: the packaging, the advertising, and the ingredients. Each part will tell a piece of the story (at times, perhaps, conflicting stories). Partly you will be performing a kind of rhetorical analysis (looking at the literature surrounding a product and examining the story it tells about Nature and its relationship to it).
Partly you will be performing a kind of visual analysis (looking at the images surrounding a product and interpreting their meaning). Ultimately though your thesis should address the claims the product makes regarding its “natural” content and its connection to Nature (What are those claims? How is Nature imagined? What are some of the assumptions the manufacturers make about the value of Nature and their relationship to it? Etc.)
Use the movie The Life of David Gale. Find an Advertisement that is about your issue of choice. (I have no idea for the issue choice, so you can choose yourself.) Use this Advertisement to write a three page causal, evaluation, or proposal argument in which you argue your position. (I want to write that evaluation way.) You should have at least 5 sources (the movie should be including to be two of your sources.)One wource may be qualified source from the Internet. The other one may be a personal interview, from books, journals, magazines, newspapers, or from other qualified sources. You must cite your sources within the text, and you must have a Work Cited page that does not count as part of the 3 pages. This assignment will be graded on punctuation, grammar, mechanics, spelling, and content cohesiveness / clarity.

Send my application to several universities as I want to major in Engineering Custom Essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

I’m planning to send my application to several universities as I want to major in Engineering (didn’t decide yet on the field).
I need an essay mainly about me. I’m not sure what should be written in it.
Need it to be simple and creative. “Maybe” as a story or a cause and effect with some nice and smart examples: For example: connecting “building complicated models using Lego” something related to math and problem solving. Maybe Cars wires… I’m sure you can come-up with more interesting things.

Biomes, Development, Pollution, and You Custom Essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

Each part of the United States has at least one ecological crisis based on location, biome, and industrialization pattern. For example, the Midwest was once a prairie with very fertile soil. However, when people realized that with the right watering and drainage system this area could become productive farmland, there arose ecological problems. The conversion of the prairie to farmland is the root cause of many ecological problems in this region.
Regardless of what biome you consider, humans have likely had an impact on the ecology of that area.
For this assignment, identify the biome in which you live. The following are a few examples of biomes:
Tropical rainforests: This biome has high average temperatures, high moisture levels, and high species diversity.
Prairies: The prairies have grassland-variable temperatures, variable moisture levels—depending on proximity to mountain ranges—and are mainly dominated by grasses and ungulate herbivores.
Deserts: These biomes have hotter average temperatures, low moisture, lower species diversity, and a composition of species limited mainly to those that are adapted to hot temperatures.
Temperate forests: The temperate forests have variable temperatures, high moisture levels, and higher species diversity.
Taigas: These biomes have colder average temperatures, lower moisture levels, and lower species diversity.
Tundra’s: The tundra’s have cold average temperatures, low moisture levels, and low species diversity.
Coral reefs: These biomes have high average temperatures and high species diversity.
Open oceans: These biomes have a wide range of temperatures and species diversity varies.
Chaparrals: The chaparrals have higher average temperatures, lower moisture levels, and are dominated mainly by grasses and shrubs.
Alpines: These biomes have low average temperatures, low precipitation, and receive high ultraviolet (UV) rays due to high elevation.
Explain how humans have impacted the biome in which you live. List the types of environmental damage that have been caused and the species that have been impacted.
Describe the major pollution issues for your biome, and elaborate on the sources of this pollution.
List any species that have become extinct in this biome.
Support your statements with appropriate examples and scholarly references.
Address the following:
Propose how the environmental damage listed in your classmates’ posts could be reversed.
Consider if any “ideal” laws exist today to address these issues. Cite your examples.
Recommend the type of laws you would implement, from an ecological standpoint, to manage and restore this biome.
