In this Application, you consider such guidelines as they relate to forensic psychology so that you may become sensitive to what you need to know and be able to relate to multicultural populations in the forensic psychology arena.
To prepare for this assignment:
Review the selected pages in Chapter 10 of the course text, Introduction to Forensic Psychology. Pay particular attention to the meaning of multiculturalism and consider how it can impact the practice of forensic psychology.
Think about your own beliefs regarding multicultural differences.
Reflect on the role of a forensic psychology professional in addressing multicultural differences and meeting the needs of a diverse set of clients.
Review the Guidelines on Multicultural Education, Training, Research, Practice and Organizational Change for Psychologists and the APA Guidelines for Providers of Psychological Services to Ethnic, Linguistic, and Culturally Diverse Populations in this week’s Learning Resources.
Consider which of the guidelines you believe are the most important to the role of a forensic psychologist or to a forensic psychology professional subspecialty.
