After reading the document entitled “Leadership” within the Mod 6 folder on the ANGEL course web site, read 2 of the web articles listed at the bottom of that page. If you choose “Leaders and Revolutionaries,” read about one of the people listed on that page; you don’t have to read them all, but you may. Review Thinkwell material. Look over the assignments you have completed. Post a new message in this topic area. Type your name as the subject. Read all the instructions before you begin. If other students have already posted messages, read theirs before you post yours. Respond to other posts as well.
Here is the message content for your two paragraphs:
1. After thinking about all of the above, write one paragraph explaining at least two ideas you’ve learned that contribute to successful leadership. I suggest you begin with a topic sentence that names the two ideas. Then clearly define and explain the first idea with concrete supporting details about how leaders use the idea. Then do the same for the second idea. Use terminology from the articles you read, Module 6 information from the ANGEL course web site, and Thinkwell. Use quotations or paraphrase and give credit to your information appropriately. You may also agree or disagree with what you have read or heard, etc. There is room for creativity here. Provide thoughtful, fully developed answers.
2. In a second paragraph, write how you will apply these ideas in your own life to be a successful leader. Be concrete. Don’t just say, I’ll apply the two things I mentioned above. Tell me when and where you will use these skills and ideas as well as explain how you will measure them. For example, if one idea you’ll apply is more effective listening, then explain how you will apply it to a work project or a community organization; explain what that means and how you will evaluate your success. Your post should be at least 300 original words (not including copying the questions into your answers).
