In this week’s forum, you will be posting some of your preliminary results from the field research you’re conducting. In your original post, create at least one graph for one of your survey questions. Even if you don’t have 20 responses back yet, track your data wherever you’re at in the collection process. This is so you can practice turning the numbers into picture representations. It may be easiest to do this in PowerPoint, so feel free to upload a file with your graph. Each graph you create counts for 20 words of your original post, so if you do 5 graphs, that covers 100 words of your 300 word minimum.
Then, explain what you’ve been most interested in from the results you’re getting. Has anything surprised you? Are your results turning out the way you imagined? Did anybody take the survey in a way that seems like they didn’t understand something from your questions? How so? What is the information you’re most excited to use for your project? For this week’s thought-provoking question, ask us something related to your survey or the survey process.
In addition to your original post, reply to at least 1 classmate. Make sure your reply is at least 150 words in length, and try to give constructive feedback – things to improve upon as well as things done great already.

As we come to the close of our term, we are quickly approaching the final session in which you will all present the results of your work on the term projects. In the final reading assignment this week, we explore the nature of oral communication and visual aids. Our focus for the forum will help us delve deeper into the reading, as well as consider our own best practices for presentations and visual aids.
In your original post, I’d like you to choose a passage from chapter 21 that you found particularly helpful. Tell us briefly which passage it is, and then comment on why this passage stands out for you as something useful. Then, I’d like you to share something you think you do very well in presentations.
Also, tell us about something you would like to improve as a presenter. Then, comment on your personal experience with visual aids. Do you like using them? Why or why not? Do you think most people use them effectively?
Finally, tell us about a time when you saw an excellent presentation; it can be from a classmate, a teacher, a public speaker, or any other presentation you’ve seen. What made it stand out? If you cannot think of an excellent presentation, tell us about a really bad one; what made it tough to watch?
As usual, once you’ve completed your 300 word original post, you’ll write a 150 word response to a classmate or to me. Don’t forget to include your thought-provoking question. If you have questions, let me know!
