In order to ensure you that you are effectively knowledgeable about usability testing, and that this can be displayed in your research proposal introduction, you will have to conduct secondary research on website usability.

TASK:
Step 1: Find two distinct and credible sources online that provide accurate information on:
What website usability is
Why usability of a website needs to be regularly addressed
What components that affect website usability
What ways a website can be tested for usability
Step 2: List the source in APA format for a reference page. See pages 422-428 Practical Strategies for guidance on APA reference formatting. Also, Google “website citation APA” or a similar search for accessible guidance and tools.
Step 3: Compose a 75-150 word summary for each source that explains the essential main points of that source. Absolutely no language should be copied from the source (no quotation); rather, you must paraphrase the content—in other words, put the sources’ main ideas into your own words. Page 418-419 Practical Strategies provides strong guidelines for composing a source summary.
Keep in mind that turnitin.com will indicate to me all direct language taken from the sources. While there will be of course will be the some specific words that match, and some short phrases matching (1-3 words), any indication of direct copying of language from the source will result in a zero on this assignment.
Step 4: For each source, explain why (or why not) the audience for your proposal will find the source credible, being sure to reference the relevant criteria provided on pages 92-93 Practical Strategies,
Step 5: For each source, briefly explain whether or not you can use the information in your research proposal, and how.

Lamott’s book offers honest advice on the nature of a writing life, complete with its insecurities and failures. Taking a humorous approach to the realities of being a writer, the chapters in Lamott’s book are wry and anecdotal and offer advice on everything from plot development to jealousy, from perfectionism to struggling with one’s own internal critic. In the process, Lamott includes writing exercises designed to be both productive and fun.
Lamott offers sane advice for those struggling with the anxieties of writing, but her main project seems to be offering the reader a reality check regarding writing, publishing, and struggling with one’s own imperfect humanity in the process. Rather than a practical handbook to producing and/or publishing, this text is indispensable because of its honest perspective, its down-to-earth humor, and its encouraging approach.
Chapters in this text could easily be included in the curriculum for a writing class. Several of the chapters in Part 1 address the writing process and would serve to generate discussion on students’ own drafting and revising processes. Some of the writing exercises would also be appropriate for generating classroom writing exercises. Students should find Lamott’s style both engaging and enjoyable.
