Revolutionary American History Custom Essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

In some ways, the authors of the US Constitution and Bill of Rights clearly adopted the ideas of the English Bill of Rights of 1688. In other ways, they clearly rejected them.
1.) Discuss these differences.
2.) Discuss the reasons for these differences. (Most, but not all, reflected the historic colonial experience between 1619 and 1789. That’s a big hint.)

The expectation is that you will use APA 6th edition guidelines to cite references. No less than three (3) references are required. This is a summary of the information that you have researched, so this will be written in your own words – except when you cite a specific reference. Choosing your topic: Your paper should examine any reading or readings up through The Chrysalids Custom Essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

1. Choosing your topic: Your paper should examine any reading or readings up through The Chrysalids. Your topic must be narrow and focused, but rich enough to sustain a discussion over 6-7 pages. While brainstorming your topic, keep in mind the major themes and ideas that we have discussed in class, and how they drive the works you are considering. Ask yourself: Did the idea or presentation of a particular topic or theme interest you? Or, did you notice a connection between different works that you would like to explore further? These questions are just some examples of ways to begin your close reading and eventual research. However, please do not write on a topic that we extensively covered in class.
2. Establishing your argument: The key to writing an effective paper is first to establish a lucid argument in the form of a thesis statement. Remember that you will need to prove your thesis through textual evidence and research work. In order to accomplish this, you must closely read and analyze your text to find concrete examples. Additionally, you must find strong secondary sources to anchor your argument. If you cannot find evidence to support your argument, choose another topic.
Use your first paragraph to introduce your central thesis. By the end of this paragraph, your topic, focus, and argument should be clear to the reader.
3. Writing your paper: Do remember that this is a formal paper. You should have an introduction, a body, a conclusion, and an interesting title. Your paragraphs should have transitions between them, and each should develop a single idea that supports and furthers your argument. Carefully proofread your work. Typos and grammatical or syntactical errors are unacceptable.
Use the body of your paper to present your evidence to your reader. In order to do this, you must use direct quotes and examples from the text (cited by author and page number), and demonstrate a profound understanding of your topic. Since this assignment is partly an exercise in close reading, I expect a close and detailed engagement with the text throughout the paper. Also and most importantly, please do not provide plot summaries. Your interaction with the text should be limited to your argument.
4. Research Component: Your paper must include 2-3 secondary sources. Please limit your research to scholarly books and academic articles; Wikipedia and other internet sources (enotes.com, bookrags.com, SparkNotes, etc) are unacceptable. Be sure to find sources that are relevant to your topic and argument so that you might effectively incorporate them into the body of your paper. Your paper must include a Works Cited list formatted in MLA style.
5. Technical Details: Your papers should be 6-7 pages double-spaced (no more, no less), using 12- point Times New Roman font, and standard 1-inch margins.
Finally, you must turn in a hardcopy of your work in class on the day it is due, as well as an electronic copy in a dropbox on the Moodle page for our course. I will not accept late papers.
