SuperNewMedia Ltd has been commissioned a web site by a television production company – Transnational TV Ltd – that is producing a documentary on a consortium of science museums operating in London, Paris, Madrid and New York.
Deliverables: The Client needs a web site to accompany the television series of documentaries on the museums. The web site should inform the museums public about opening times, collections and other events. It should also have a strong education section with interactive materials for both children and adults and 2 mini Flash games and 1 competition linked with the TV programme.
Languages: The project will be in three languages – English, French, and Spanish. Time-frame: This project should be completed in 6 months.
The team available for this project (see below) is obviously inadequate for the scale of this production. The project started 2 months ago and the team has only been able to produce a weak demo.
It seems that not all members of the team are working on the same flow charts/schedule; there are unresolved issues about the allocation of tasks and
the timeframe/deadline for each task.
The client is not happy with the demo of the web design produced so far as it does not seem to match the expectations about innovative and interactive design.
The production of the game components is behind schedule as no member of the team has any game design experience.

You should:
1. Analyse the main recruitment and team management problems affecting this project. Identify the talent needed to produce this project, and specifically:
? Identify the members of the “old” SuperNewMedia team that are not required to work on this project, discuss a redeployment strategy
? Outline your recruitment strategy for new team members. Discuss which recruitment channels are you going to use and why. All new team members will
have to be recruited externally, this means that you will not be in the position to select team members from the pool of SuperNewMedia employees.
? Do not describe each team member?s profile (or what they are supposed to do) in the body of the Report. Instead attach a chart outlining the new team members in the Appendix. For each new member of the team specify: background/education, level of experience required, skills, desirable employment status (full-time, part-time, free-lance), see the table used in week 03 seminar exercise.
2. Analyse the benefits/problems of outsourcing and identify members of the team or the production activities that could be usefully “outsourced”. Identify freelance talent or companies that you can use for your outsourcing strategy.
The audience for this Report is the Director of New Media at SuperNewMedia. This person is your line manager and he/sh is an expert in digital media productions.
