This assignment requires the completion of Journals, which relate events currently taking place in government (within the past 6 months) to the topics covered in the course. The topics and deadlines are as follows:

General Journal Requirements:
Each Journal, will be based on a current issue, covered in at least one news article. The article you are reviewing should be a minimum of 4 paragraphs in length and relate directly to the topic assigned. I will from time to time provide you with suggested articles. Regardless of whether the article is required, suggested or of your own choosing you must identify your sources in parentheses references and provide a proper Works Cited. (MLA or APA)
All Journals will be divided into 3 separate components:
Summary – Summarize in paragraph form the issues presented in the article. Please document the source of your information with a parenthetical reference and works cited.
Application – Relate the article to the assigned topic, specifically show how the topic of the article compliments, illustrates or relates to material presented in the text book (use examples from the article and terms or concepts found in the textbook.)
Analysis – Conclude with your own analysis of the issue presented in the article. This may relate to your observations of reality vs. text, the actions of those discussed in the article or your anticipated outcome of this issue.
