The personal statement is intended as an opportunity to give the Admissions Committee a better sense of who you are as a person and as a potential student and graduate of intended Law School. In many instances, applicants have used the personal statement to provide more context on how their experiences and strengths could make them valuable contributors to the the school and legal communities, to illuminate their intellectual background and interests, or to clarify or elaborate on other information in their application. Because applicants and their experiences differ, you are the best person to determine the content of your statement.
About myself:
– I am from Kuwait (grew up and live there and planning on returning after law school)
– Completing my undergrad this May from bentley university with a BS in Finance and a minor in Law
– Completed an Internship at the National Bank of Kuwait – Capital (legal department)
– Completed an Internship at Wainwright Investment Counsel, Boston (legal department)
– Cultural, Traditional and Religious (Islam) and concerned with development in Middle Eastern legal issues
– Applying as a Corporate Law Major (working to develop financial institutions in the MENA region through the improvement of Islamic Finance from a Legal Perspective)
– Very interested in working with the UN and NGO’s in the Middle East to improve humanitarian rights
– Captain of Kuwaiti Rowing National Team (Attempting to be first Kuwaiti rower at the Olympics – 2016 Rio)
– Influential and public figure family (Father – Dr. Tareq Al-Suwaidan, Brother – Dr. Mohammad Al-Suwaidan, Sister – Maysoon Al-Suwaidan)
