All drafts and the final version of the research essay must be in typewritten format.
1. The paper should include three full pages of text, double-spaced, in 12-point Times New Roman font (not including the Works Cited page) with standard margins. The last page of the essay will be the Works Cited; therefore, the final paper should be four pages long, including the Works Cited page.
2. All sources must be cited within the text. Please see the Plaza College MLA Style Sheets (located on Shared Files and available in the library and LRC) for more information on MLA citation format.
3. You must use at least three sources in writing this paper. Standard encyclopedias, such as Britannica or World Book, or any electronic encyclopedia sources, such as Wikipedia and Encarta, are not acceptable.
4. Acceptable sources include books, magazines, newspapers, journals, Internet sites, personal interviews, documentary films, pamphlets, and bulletins.
5. You must include at least two properly used direct quotations within the text of your paper.
6. Photocopies or print-outs of all source materials used in writing the research essay must be submitted with the final essay.
