Try and do as much as possible with the leopold/loeb case and compare it with the sweet/scopes trials which are detailed in the above link.
As for comparing the two books, the Farrell version is a much more intimate account of Darrow himself(his emotions, tribulations, etc…) while the Tierney is a much more mathematical recounting which focuses less ojn a dreamy recollection of Darrows ability as an orator, and reads much more like a history book. Feel free to play around with that.
