Scenario
London is a very diverse city with people from different cultures and who have different values. As a care worker you must understand the importance of personal values, beliefs and different cultures
you will encounter in a health and social care. Your line manager has asked you to attend a local
council monthly meeting where the discussion will focus on improving communication within health
and social care. After the meeting you have been asked to write a report what you must do
2.1 explain how the communication process is influenced by values and cultures giving concrete
examples from your research and or your own work placement to support your answer.( please use this examples to write. values and culture: factors eg beliefs, age, sex, sexuality, ethnicity, gender, education, social class. )
2.2 explain how current and past legislations, codes of practice impact on the communication process in health and social care ( legislations, charters and code of practice: national, European, united nations as appropriate eg equality, diversity, discrimination, confidentiality and sharing information)

3.3 analyse the effectiveness of how organisations policies and practices promote good practice and
what barriers they might create. ( organisational system and policies: information, documents ,systems, structures, procedures, practices)
2.4 identify a range of ways that the communication can be improved in health and social care
