The purpose of this application is to provide the student an opportunity to critically appraise selected literary evidence using a systematic template that might serve as the beginning knowledgebase for the eventual DNP Project.
This assignment provides documentation of student ability to meet the following course outcomes:
CO2: Articulate how phenomena of interest found in nursing literature contribute to evidence-based practice (PO #5).
CO5: Analyze the implementation of selected theoretical perspectives into evidence-based practice (PO #5).
CO6: Apply selected nursing theory to a given advanced nursing practice situation (PO #5).
CO7: Synthesize the role of nursing theory and literary conceptual frameworks in guiding nursing research (PO #5).
CO8: Demonstrate internet search techniques to find research for implementation into evidence-based practice using diverse databases including Cochrane Library, Joanna Briggs Institute, CINAHL, and MEDLINE (PO #5).
CO9: Critique research evidence by differentiating systematic review from integrative review (PO #5).
CO10: Compare and contrast leveling of evidence with grading of evidence relevant to advanced nursing practice (PO #5).
REQUIREMENTS
1. To complete this application, you will need to access to the following databases: CINAHL, MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, and the Joanna Briggs Institute.
2. The Conceptual Analysis project is worth 250 points and will be graded on quality of information, use of citations, use of Standard English grammar, template structure, and overall organization based on the required components as summarized in the directions and grading criteria/rubric.
3. Create your project using Microsoft Word (a part of Microsoft Office), which is the required format for all Nursing documents. You can tell that the document is saved as a MS Word document because it will end in “.docx”
4. Follow the directions and grading criteria closely.
5. The length of the project is to be no less than 6 and no greater than 8 pages excluding title page and reference pages.
6. APA format is required with both a title page and reference page. Use the required components of the template provided under the Doc Sharing tab at the top of the course page and view the following documents:

• NR700 DocSharing Knowledgebase Template, for use in creating knowledgebase project
PREPARING THE PROJECT
The following are best practices for preparing this project:
1. Review the example of a partial knowledgebase project provided under Doc Sharing (described above).
2. For each selected citation, address all seven components of the knowledgebase template:
a. Source & database,
b. Variables of interest,
c. Literature type & research tools (if any),
d. Research design & sample size (if applicable – if not, then state so),
e. Theoretical foundation (if applicable – if not, then state so),
f. # References & SWOT critique, and
g. Key findings.
3. Within each component identified above, provide detailed and accurate evidence for each selected citation.
4. Provide a comprehensive list of references including all selected citations as well as any additional sources cited (i.e., research tools, theories, etc.)
