Bill Frist MD majored in health policy from Princeton University?s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs as well as attained a medical degree from Harvard Medical School (Martin, 2004). His first public opportunity was chairing a Tennessee taskforce on Medicaid reform (Martin, 2004). In 1994, Dr. Frist entered the US Senate race based in a conservative platform of welfare reform, tax and spending cuts, and term limits (Martin, 2004). During the George H.R. Bush Whitehouse, Senator Bill Frist MD was voted in as the majority leader of the Senate for the 108th Congress of the United States (Martin, 2004).CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THIS PAPER? PRICE?..During his Senate stay, Senator Frist MD supported bipartisan health care reform including the prevention of payers from denying coverage based on preexisting conditions and insurance portability (Frist, 2005). In other bipartisan legislation, Senator Frist M.D. co-sponsored the passage of the Public Health Threats and Emergencies Act of 2000 to instill a national structure for emergency preparedness (Martin, 2004). Senator Frist MD?s most well-known policy accomplishment was the bipartisan collaboration in the passage of Medicare Part D that allowed government and private payer competition in the administration of Medicare plans (Frist, 2005; Iglehart, 2004).ReferencesFrist, B. The concept of leadership has been described by numerous leadership theories in which influencing others toward change is the central concept. Susan D. I admired the person you have selected and it is very inspirational to have someone that is transformational. This is very important especially in healthcare industry. I would also add that transformational leadership is a dynamic process which engages both the leader and follower (Rada, 1999)Thank you and it was nice interacting online with you. I wish you luck in your future endeavors.ThanksJohnReference:Rada, D. (1999). Transformational leadership and urban renewal. I have enjoyed MUCH our interactions together and I wish you the best as we continue with Walden.Next, healthcare and/or the delivery is a hot topic in our country! Given that Susan DeVore is a CEO of a private healthcare organization, would you say she has more latitude pursuing her style of leadership. I think of Dr. Petzel, the Veterans Health Administration Under-Secretary and how he has to work within the political parameters of the VA. How does Susan DeVore move through this maze?or does she? I must assume the PPACA has affected her organization?CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THIS PAPER? MarshallThis review focuses on the practices of leadership as defined by the career of General George C. Marshall. General George C. Marshall was an iconic figure that towered over both the political and military establishment from 1930 to 1953. His influence still resonates today within the halls of the Virginia Military Institute, Department of Defense, and the State Department. General Marshal was able to balance the requirements of a military force during peacetime and wartime, provide guidance and leadership to subordinate commanders, provide sound advice to two wartime presidents, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry S. Truman, and manage a civilian force that supported a military during World War II. His ethical and moral leadership was an ever present quality throughout his career. Much can be learned from this last great American hero with relationship to his VABE qualities, ethics, leadership philosophy, and his contribution to all facets within the public administration discipline. Today?s leaders must focus and execute all attributes concerning VABE qualities, ethics, candor, and leadership displayed by General Marshall, which in turn will reap the rewards of a successful and thriving organization, internal culture, and professional character, all attributes of an admirable leader.November 16, 2013 5:29:39 PM EST1 day agoAccess the profile card for user: Laura Dickson Laura Dickson Email AuthorResponse to Noel Total views: 10 (Your views: 1)Author: Access the profile card for user: Noel Hike Noel HikeDate: Saturday, November 16, 2013 4:47:59 PM ESTSubject: RE: Discussion 1 ? I noticed in my search for a leader for the final project that many individuals considered great leaders are from the military. I wonder if this is so because of the large-scale impact that their work has not only on those serving under them, but the country as a whole.Thank you for your thoughts,LauraNovember 17, 2013 7:30:41 PM EST12 hours agoAccess the profile card for user: Noel Hike Noel Hike Email AuthorRE: Response to Noel Total views: 6 (Your views: 1)Author: Access the profile card for user: Laura Dickson Laura DicksonDate: Saturday, November 16, 2013 5:29:39 PM ESTSubject: Response to NoelNoel,CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THIS PAPER? I would probably concede to you being military and served with great soldiers, I would of resonated towards a military leader so there must be a correlation between the two.Other non-military leaders would have been Harry Truman, Ronald Reagan, Winston-Churchill, Ross Perot to name a few.Great post?I wish you the best after this course!NoelNovember 16, 2013 5:26:49 PM EST1 day agoAccess the profile card for user: Laura Dickson Email AuthorRE: Discussion 1 ? His work around combating climate change and carbon neutrality have sparked global interest and governmental support. His agenda for leading his people has resulted in the development of a democratic political party, the first free election, a national university, and universal health insurance, just to name a few. While the Maldavian country appears to continue to be plagued by its political past and history of terrorist dictatorship, Nasheed has worked to change these processes through peaceful means and dedication to change. His leadership reflects an authoritative style and implementation of Clawson?s language of leadership. While his political career has been rife with change and controversy, his achievements are clear. At this time his political future is unknown as he faces another Presidential election, however; it is clear that Mohamed Nasheed believes that he still has work to do on behalf of Maldavian citizens and the global community.November 16, 2013 11:32:09 PM EST1 day agoCLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THIS PAPER? When you look at is humble beginnings and the family that he was born into, you can see that he is truly an average American who was able to fulfill the ultimate American dream to become the first minority and president of the United States. His keynote address to the Democratic convention in 1964 brought him into the limelight and most of us were quite impressed with his motivational style and well-focused speech. His vitality and convincing oratory would prove to be one of his best assets not to mention his knowledge and background. Here was a man who definitely had the gift of delivering words that would impact many of us for years to come. When he decided to run for President, most of us thought that Hillary Clinton would leave him in the dust mostly because we felt he was inexperienced. Most of us were amazed and impressed. When he won the nomination for President, we were a bit overwhelmed. However, he proved to run an, honest and successful campaign that won him the votes to become President. To this day, he remains the defender of human and worker rights and is doing everything in his power to do the best job possible. He is a hands-on President and he is believable to those of us who know that he is on our side at all times. He and the first family are models of a true representation of our country and set an example of poise, well-mannered and respectful of who they are and the home they live in. His reelection to a second term proves that the majority of the American voters believe he is the best to continue to carry on this important job for another four years.November 17, 2013 4:13:50 PM EST Total views: 5 (Your views: 1)16 hours agoAccess the profile card for user: Valentine Chukwueloka Email AuthorRE: Discussion 1 ? His leadership skills benefited trememdously from the values, beliefs and memes that were passed on to him by his elders. He was also a servant leader whose humility, activism and eloquence motivated the people of South Africa to achieve their common purpose. His government developed a comprehensive constitution based on equity and justice. In addition, his governemtn also developed a plan that reformed various aspects of the economy and addressed the specific needs of poor South Africans. Although Nelson Mandela recorded various achievements in governance, reconciliation and economic reforms, the foreign missions in South Africa criticized his government for lacking a well thought out and comprehensive foreign policy. Despite the criticisms, Nelson Mandela and his government made remarkable impact with their policy in Africa and in their advocacy for democratic governance.CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THIS PAPER?
