Some general notes from professor:
I dont care what notation system you use for footnotes, etc., as long as you’re consistent about it and you don’t do ridiculous things like cite Wikipedia. You don’t have to cite anything at all, unless someone makes a specific claim you want to quote in order to argue against it. This is an argumentative paper, not a research paper. that means you cant just spend the whole paper on general discussion or summarizing or comparing or contrasting position and wait until the end to give "your opinion." the entire paper is your opinion, and what conclusion you are arguing for should be clear from beginning, as should be the reasons you are giving for holding that opinion. (by reasons, i don’t mean psychological or autobiographical "reasons", but the kind that might convince someone who did not already agree with you.) A good first line would be "i will argue that…." you should not be comparing and contrasting opinions and giving "your opinion" at the end. the entire paper should be a sustained argument for "your opinion." You should be wary of begging the question, arguing against straw men, unexplained logical leaps an ad hominem arguments
