Create a personal/professional story and statement that brings together your insights and feelings related to being a leader and manager; tell me about YOU specifically and in some detail. Your reflections will be time-located in the now with some projection into your future. Do this reflection in terms of:
Section 1
First, answer the question: What leader/manager professional insights have I gained from being a researcher creating a leader’s profile? Why are these insights for me and why are they worthwhile for me? Second, consider your being an interviewer, observer, shadower, and an acting assistant director [attaching-at-hip; servant/serving other – see references below] during PE = my roles. Here present a few ‘so whats’ — the meanings and relevance of these roles for you as a leader/manager into the future. Particularly note how you felt about the idea of insider/outsider (Smales, 2002) and being a shadower; here, make links to your professional experience goals and workplan (as Appendix 1). [This part of your story/statement is about your professional insights and understandings as well as your roles. Section 2
Here, speculate about your future leadership and being a leader/manager in the early childhood field; plus, decide on one preferred/predominate leadership style for yourself. This request acknowledges combined and multiple as well as changing styles for leaders and the factor you are already a leader in some way. Examine and critically document why these leader concepts and this style seem to be most relevant for you; incorporate some ‘so what’ – what are a couple of relevant professional implications for you to seriously consider? [write about one to 1 ½ pages here with two references]
Also, identify and link your focal future leadership approach/style with a professional metaphor for yourself [either back to metaphor you created for yourself earlier in semester for online sharing or one you create now; if created before, you might decide to change the metaphor now OR you might change it following feedback from other ‘peas in a pod’ online – if you change, briefly discuss why]. So, explicitly overview the metaphor and discuss how/why you link it with your leadership style [write ½ page to one page with a reference]. Finally, create an image/picture of this metaphor [draw/copy and insert selected image into part 2; reference as needed].

Appendix
