The purpose of this project is to promote critical evaluation of existing Early Intervention programs. All the listed programs have published evidence on their effectiveness and your job is to research, review and present a program of your choice.
Research the program thoroughly. Research the program, start year, goals, study design, target persons and sample size, selection criteria, age group, location of services, services offered, intensity of intervention, individual or group attention, program location on map, measured outcomes by domain for the child and adult participants, describe the magnitude of effects, describe any applicable follow-up study information, and who were the ultimate beneficiaries of the project.
a. You may use multiple resources
I. Internet, newspapers, journal articles, books, and state/government published material, etc. At least 5.
2. Summarize the evidence and your critical opinion about the project (i.e., strengths, weaknesses, likes, dislikes), but do include information on the:
a. Critical components or practices (strategies, elements, practices that were implemented)
b. Observed outcomes (be specific for the domains/skills/capacity)
c. What type of ?change or trajectory in learning has been demonstrated (changes in skills, knowledge, learning, behavior, etc.)? �Please describe the quantitative change over time
d. How much confidence exits for the program (strong evidence, some evidence, weak evidence)?
3. Connect the program with Brofenbrenner�s ecological theory
4. Create a conclusion including your analysis of the social validity or consumer satisfaction for the project and its outcomes�would you recommend or not
