This is an empirical research proposal for my research methods class: I am using Planned behavior theory to suppor this research.
The intro: Recall that your introduction must capture the reader’s attention and compel the reader’s interest and that the introduction must achieve both goals while directing the reader to that which will be discussed (i.e., the proposal’s subject and the specific research problem). Remember, too, the model for the proposal: it looks like an hour glass — broad at the top [your intro] narrow at center [your research questions] and broad at the base [your review of related scholarly literature]. This model suggests that your introduction must serve to both introduce the particular, specific interest of the proposal ALONG WITH the context within which that specific and particular interest is nested.
