Focus of the Research Paper
Each student will develop a 10 to 12 page (excluding cover page and references) feasibility study for an original business idea. A feasibility study is a structured and systematic analysis of the various aspects of a proposed entrepreneurial venture designed to determine its feasibility. The study must demonstrate the basic market, operational and economic viability of the proposed concept as well as the support needed for the venture. Please note you are not developing a full business plan but only conducting a feasibility study.
Original business ideas may be chosen from one of the following:
Come up with an original concept for your own entrepreneurial, growth-oriented venture
Identify an opportunity for entrepreneurship within your own organization
Invent something that can be sold or licensed to an existing company
Writing the Research Paper
The Paper:
Must be 10 to 12, double-spaced pages in length and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the approved APA style guide. Title, reference, and any exhibits or appendices are not counted in the paper length.
Must include a cover page that includes:
Title of paper
Student’s name
Course name and number
Instructor’s name
Date submitted
Must include an introductory paragraph with a succinct thesis statement.
Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought.
Must conclude with a restatement of the thesis and a conclusion paragraph.
Must use APA style as outlined in the approved APA style guide to document all sources.
Must include, on the final page, a Reference List that is completed according to APA style as outlined in the approved APA style guide.
