Nursing Project Assignment: You will need to identify a problem or opportunity for improvement in care and follow the steps of Evidence Base Practice Research Utilization to develop a practice change. The project will be written up in a formal paper.
1.Determine Clinical Problem and/or Area of Research: *Topic/Problem ? Examine way(s) to increase medication compliance for psychiatric patients in order to reduce % of relapse and in-patient readmissions.
2.Complete Database search regarding clinical issue/problem. Method of search needs to be addressed in paper. Should be utilizing databases relevant to health and nursing (do not want Google searches). Strong preference for CINAHL but other databases okay so long as database is identified and search terms/methodology is addressed in paper. Meta-Analysis/Systemic Reviews are excellent sources.
3.Need a number (4-5) good, quality studies that examines the problem. Also need (4-5) studies on solution to problem. Then choose at least 1 study with good results for solution (or come up with own plan based on combination of evidence) to present in paper. Project does not actually have to implemented-just identified.
