Fahrenheit 451 research paper
Your cluminating assignment this semester is a research paper based upon the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. However, before you can begin this paper you must engage in field research to accumulate data necessary for the paper. It is bradbury’s contention that many critics have misinterpreted this novel. It is not a novel about government censorship, nor was it written in response to Senator Joseph McCarthy. Rather, Bradbury contends, it is a novel about a culture living in an industrialized country surrounded by technology and abrogating its reponsibilities toward life. Bradbury felt that television was destorying our ability to thhink critically. We were, and still are, being misled by a medium that delivers everything to us in ”factoids.” What is important is being given to us in sound bites with no meat to message. Is Bradbury correct? Are we in fact our own worst enemies for allowing the media to behave in this way, or are there other conspiratorial forces controlled by the government subtlety taking control of our lives one Step at a time and we are unwitting victims?
Observations; the first step you must take is to critically ovserve those segments of society with which you come in contact. Two or three observations should be sufficient. What do your observations reveal to you regarding those you have observed in relationship to technology? Is there a substantial buy in to what technology has to offer; would they live complete lives without it, or would they be lost with no ideasto guide them? These are not the only thingsyou need concentrate on, but they can be usedas a beginning point.
Surves; Once you have completed your observations, create a survey of no more than ten questions in which can begin to more accurately measure the place of technology in society’s life today. Your observations may be of help in crafting your questions since they may have already touched a responsive ord as to your beliefs regarding modern society and technology.

Next, you may now go to the internet for validation of your findings. Do not depend on the internet as a primary source to guide your paper that should be the function of your field research. What you have found is important and should form the centerpiece of the paper. The data which you find on the internet should now provide further support to your findings.
